Dr. Telita Crosland is a board director, strategic advisor, and transformative healthcare leader with more than three decades of experience leading large, complex organizations through innovation, operational transformation, and enterprise modernization.
A retired U.S. Army lieutenant general, she most recently served as director of the Defense Health Agency. In this role, she oversaw a $61 billion global health enterprise delivering care to more than 9.5 million beneficiaries through a workforce of over 130,000 personnel across more than 130 medical facilities worldwide.
Throughout her career, Crosland has led largescale transformation at the intersection of healthcare delivery, digital innovation, and operational performance. She championed initiatives to modernize healthcare infrastructure - prioritizing a $30 million investment in patient-centered technologies in support of a virtual first strategy for 2.3 million enrolled beneficiaries and overseeing the $9 billion MHS electronic health record implementation - while strengthening cybersecurity and data governance and accelerating the adoption of emerging technologies.
Following retirement from military service, Crosland serves as a board director and strategic advisor to healthcare, technology, and investment organizations. She advises leadership teams on enterprise strategy, digital transformation, responsible AI adoption, and navigating complex regulatory and public-sector environments - helping organizations scale while aligning technology, operations, and leadership culture to drive sustainable growth and improved outcomes.
Crosland previously served as deputy surgeon general of the U.S. Army and held multiple command and senior executive roles across the Military Health System in the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped lead national response efforts that deployed military medical personnel to civilian hospitals across the country to support overwhelmed healthcare systems.
An accomplished speaker and thought leader, Crosland frequently addresses leadership forums and healthcare summits on healthcare transformation, digital innovation, leadership at scale, and the future of care delivery. She is a two-time recipient of the Wash100 Award for spearheading technology modernization across the Military Health System, and recipient of the 2026 Human Values Award from the Art of Living Foundation International Women's Conference.
Crosland is board certified in family medicine and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Medicine. She is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Public Health from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, as well as a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University.
