Translating Military Experience to the Civilian World

In the latest Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Warrior Survey, difficulty translating military skills to the civilian workforce was one of the top three reported barriers to obtaining employment or changing jobs. But veterans don’t have to navigate this transition alone.

When people think about supporting veterans, they often focus on the veteran. But behind every service member is a network of people who love and care for them. Spouses, parents, siblings, children, friends, and neighbors are all part of a valuable support system.

Wounded Warrior Project named Army veteran Chante Franco its 2026 Rusty Baggett Peer Leader of the Year. During her time volunteering for WWP, Chante has gone out of her way to support her fellow veterans, including helping warriors register with the organization and assisting another veteran with a traumatic brain injury to keep them engaged.

Dan ayuda integral, no caridad".
